Dreamy Home is a timed room decoration game. The player tries to decorate different rooms in a design space using items found in cardboard boxes. They unlock a new room when they place all items in the correct spots before running out of time. They also earn hearts and stars.
The game features 10 standard rooms and one mystery room. Each room has two removed walls so that the player can see the design space. A cardboard box rests in the area beyond the room.
The box is always larger on the inside. It usually contains curtains, linens, rugs, furniture, plants, pictures, mirrors, lamps and other decorative items commonly found in homes. That said, it might also hold construction items like doors, floors and windows.
Dreamy Home is mostly a guessing game. When the player unpacks a box item by item, they must guess the correct preset positions for each object. Thankfully, if they guess close to a correct spot, the game pulls the item automatically into position. Otherwise, an object floats in the air until the player guesses correctly.
Additionally, the player receives three tools below the room that make guessing easier. These options unlock at different levels. For example, they receive a light bulb button first that auto-places an object.
